Alamo square

Our second time in San Francisco. We liked it so much the first time we had to come back.

I have a great appreciation for architecture and San Francisco is like an open air museum with perhaps the largest collection of Victorian-era buildings in the world - don’t quote me on this.

We were lucky enough to stay in Haight Ashbury, a neighbourhood famous for being the epicentre of the hippie movement in the sixties, home to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

In these series of photos you can see the highly ornate Victorian homes of Alamo square and Alta Plaza, the stunning dome of City Hall and my favourite; the impressive Art Deco Shell building in downtown San Francisco.
